Experienced Toolmaker
Direct Hire – Quakertown Area
Salary Range - $18 - $26/hr.
1st Shift
JOB DESCRIPTION
Create, make, and build the fixtures and tooling necessary to complete manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for assisting with tooling repairs as required to maintain production schedule.
REQUIREMENTS
Requires a High School diploma and/or Technical School training in Machining with relevant related experience, or,
Extensive toolmaking experience using manual lathes, mills, and surface grinders
Good eyesight and ability to speak, read, write English
Physical requirements include lifting, twisting, bending, stooping, and the ability to handle small parts involves good hand and eye coordination
Mathematical ability necessary to compute percentages, fractions, decimals geometry. Must also have the ability to compute tool usage and material requirements?
Extended hours beyond the normal week will be necessary when specific shipments are due; thus overtime will be necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Work under supervision of the Engineering Group. Skill to be evaluated and coached:
Making fixtures and tooling per an Engineering sketch.
Assist Engineering Team, Set-up Technicians, and Group leaders to minimize disruption in production as a result of non-functional tooling.
Competently operate tool making machines; including saws, milling machines, lathe, surface grinder, various hand tools and precision measurement equipment.
Partner with Engineering/Production Departments to create manufacturing solutions
Plan: process and design for building tools; material requirements for machines needed to make tools and fixtures
Must read and understand blueprints for dimensions, tolerances and other product specifications
