About this job
The Brand Ambassador is responsible for generating excitement, brand awareness and increasing product sales through event sampling and other types of experiential promotions. S/he will consistently engage shoppers to promote products and positively represent supplier clients to drive sales.
Duties, Responsibilities and Expected Contributions
Business/Functional Results
- Perform all activities involved in executing successful events/product promotions to result in sales of supplier products
- Drive incremental product sales through the consistent execution of the event sampling and promotion process: mention the supplier’s name, communicate key selling points, and ask for the sale
- Engage shoppers by explaining product to promote and increase sales; answer shopper questions about the product; maintain friendly positive image, attitude and appearance
- Organize and set up all equipment required to perform promotional event; prepare demonstration cart, procure product samples, prepare utensils/cooking equipment, organize supplies, review product preparation training, review marketing materials, set up tablet computer and recipes (if applicable); close down equipment incorporating cleaning and sanitizing
- Prepare adequate supplies and sample amounts for events to ensure well planned, high quality demonstrations are held; may involve light cooking
- Prepare daily event recap that captures shopper comments, event photos, product expense receipts and any other requested information
- From time to time, opportunity may arise to perform other event marketing activities such as concierge, mystery shopping, community events, etc.
- Collaborate and interact with store leadership as needed
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Experience Required
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum: 1 years of experience working in retail/grocery, sales, restaurant/food service, highly desirable
Functional Knowledge and Business Expertise Required
- Food safety certification (e.g. ServSafe where applicable)
