Integrity Staffing is looking for an experienced and talented Seamstress with a drive and passion for constructing and fabricating various apparel products.  The ideal candidate will assist in launching a new apparel manufacturing technique and will have the ability to adapt to change within the first 4-6 months as the role develops. The ideal candidate will be actively involved in Product Development, Pattern Testing, and identifying step by step procedures for this new department. Shift Schedule

Monday-Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm (flexibility in the schedule is possible)

 

 

Pay Rate

$15.00 and up based upon experience

 

 

RESPONSIBILITES:

 

·     Collaborate with corporate Design Team to test various patterns submitted in the form of Technical Packs. Test and execute Technical Packs to verify the quality of the pattern and prepare patterns for prototyping

 

·     Sewing and constructing prototypes of various patterns and submitting for approval. Products will begin from a hand sketch (tech pack) and be brought to fruition and merchandised on the ecommerce site

 

·     Works with Print Production Manager to provide feedback on print quality and scaling of the fabric pieces & panels to simplify manufacturing

 

·    Utilize Juki sewing machines to identify best settings and perform overlocking and safety stitches using a serger machine to sew and hem various pieces. In conjunction with the serger, use a Juki cover stitch machine to fabricate various pieces.

 

·     Partners with manager to identify and recommend best materials and equipment

 

·     Partners with manager to identify and recommend best manufacturing practices utilizing lean methodology

 

·     Create Production Specification sheets to entail machine settings and procedures for each SKU

 

·     Create SOP’s that can be used for training new sewing operators

 

·     In the longer term there is the opportunity to lead a team of sewing operators that will consist of training and performance measuring, using KPI’s to track productivity and defects

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

·     3+ years’ experience with Juki sewing machines or similar industrial sewing machines

·     3+ years’ working with textiles and fabrics, testing Technical Packs and verifying patterns for graded fits.  Prior experience leading (or supervising) and training a team is highly preferred or other leadership experiences demonstrating strong people skills

·     Strong knowledge based with various technical fabrics, construction techniques, 
and fit standards

·     Sharp eye for detail and design

·     Experience working with pattern maker

·     Strong organizational skills with proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to follow-through and respond timely to all assigned tasks.

·     Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with all staff in our Kentucky Facility as well as our Corporate Office in Seattle, Washington

·     Proficient in Microsoft office 2011+

 

Other experiences that would benefit this position include:  hemming and alterations in a light manufacturing (production) environment.  BA or AA degree in Apparel Design, Textile Sciences and experience in patter sketching and grading.  This individual may need to stand for up to 8 hours a day and lift up to 30 pounds.
