On behalf of The Policy and Research Group (PRG), Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking a Full Time Study Coordinator to assist with the Youth Empowerment Study. The Youth Empowerment Study is a federally-funded study of a trauma-informed health education program designed to reduce teen pregnancy and related risk behaviors in at-risk youth 14-19 years of age; the program is designed for youth in under-resourced systems, such as juvenile justice-involved youth. PRG will provide specific training for this position. This position offers $18 per hour plus benefits.


About the Youth Empowerment Study

PRG is conducting a randomized control trial (RCT) to test the efficacy of this program, which requires the administration of questionnaires to participants at baseline (enrollment), three months post-enrollment, six months post-enrollment, and 12 months post-enrollment.


Job Description

As a Full Time Study Coordinator, you will enroll participants into the study and execute data collection, data management, and quality assurance tasks in accordance with study protocols. Also, you will implement the innovative program being tested to fidelity with study participants assigned to the treatment group. PRG will provide specific training for this position. This is a full-time position. This position requires local and out-of-state travel. Travel and local mileage will be reimbursed.

This position will be based in 4 counties in West Virginia (Raleigh, Fayette, Greenbrier, and Mercer County). You will work from juvenile justice services offices where the study is being implemented within the region. You will also be engaged in some field work, meeting with study participants at multiple community-based offices/public locations in the region.


Qualifications:
  • 0 – 1 years of research experience and education/facilitation experience with youth or health programs
  • B.A./B.S. required
  • Strong interest and/or experience in conducting high-quality research
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable talking and working with adolescents
  • Excellent communication skills and computer skills, including Word and Excel
  • Commitment to PRG’s mission: To improve the potential of people through scientifically rigorous research and evaluation that benefits our clients and influences policy
  • Reliable and consistent transportation required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule; some evening and weekend hours will be required

Duties:
  • Participate in study protocol training; review and learn study protocol
  • Participate in intervention and fidelity monitoring training; review and learn intervention materials
  • Screen potential study participants and enroll interested youth in the study
  • Implement the program being studied with youth in the treatment group
  • Conduct data entry and quality assurance checks
  • Assist in training and technical assistance to study sites
  • Maintain and manage data collection materials and incentives
  • Manage technology and other materials necessary for study
  • Maintain contact with all study participants while they are enrolled in the study
  • Schedule and meet with study participants to collect follow-up questionnaire data
  • Maintain high follow-up questionnaire completion rates (90% or higher)
  • Regularly meet/have calls with PRG and study site staff about the project
  • Provide assistance and support for other PRG evaluation and research projects as needed
