JOB TITLE: Mgr, Accounts Payable
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing all daily activities within the assigned accounts payable functions which will include mentoring and motivating the team, while also being involved in month-end processes and payment authorization.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
Direct the timely processing of vendor invoices for the assigned area of the AP function while maintaining accuracy within the function
Effectively supervise and evaluate the staff assigned to their group. Identify actions that need to occur and make recommendations to the leadership team on staffing (e.g. job assignments, hiring, terminations and corrective action)
Timely complete functional workloads as assigned (Allocate resources daily in conjunction with the other AP Manager, create user defined codes, reconciliation of credit card payments, 1099 reporting)
Communicate with internal and external customers to provide Accounts Payable support as needed
Maintain records and files in accordance to established filing system
Ensure compliance SOX controls and maintain documentation as assigned
Complete special projects and work with other team members as needed
Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills / Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to analyze and interpret data
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Ability to manage the work of large departments
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
Ability to supervise and motivate others
Ability to use 10-key adding machine
Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)
Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
Knowledge of JD Edwards Accounting / Accounts Payable applications
Strong customer service oriented
Ability to improve processes
Education
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience
Related Work Experience Number of Years
Accounts Payable work experience 5-7
Management experience 1-3
