Job Description:

Oversee all aspects of shipping and receiving department. Responsible for ensuring customers orders are shipped as required.  Prepare domestic and international shipments in accordance with shipping requirements and specifications. Check received goods against purchase orders or receiving documents. Manage activities of two department clerks. Ensure accurate picking of parts for Service and Production orders. The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor reports to the Purchasing Manager for the accomplishment of all responsibilities and duties assigned. The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor has the necessary authority to successfully accomplish the duties and responsibilities of the position.

 

The primary responsibilities of the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor consist of, but are not limited to the following:

         Opens boxes and inspects contents of inbound materials.

         Use of material handling equipment (dollies, forklifts, overhead cranes, etc.) for the unload/load of inbound/outbound freight.

         Check supplier shipping documents to ensure all items are accounted for.

         Maintains quality records and requirements of all inbound/outbound processed material.

         Communicates directly with Mixer Systems Purchasing Dept. to resolve inbound receipt discrepancies.

         Stores, restocks, and shelves delivery/production items on shop floor as necessary. Processes location transfers for inbound materials moving to another shop location.

         Ensures compliance with plant safety standards.

         Achieves on time delivery and accuracy of orders.

         Perform all other duties as assigned.                     

Requirements:

         High School Diploma.

         At least 4 years inbound/outbound logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.

Skills required:

         Must have forklift experience.

         Must be computer literate and be able to operate the company s applicable systems, with training. Must be proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word software. 

         Must be able to adapt to changing computer technology. Must have a proactive mindset and flexibility.

         Must have ability to efficiently work in a team and coordinate work with other departments.

         Must be thorough, accurate, organized, and reliable.

         Must have good grammar skills, both in writing and speaking.

         Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines. Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task.

         Ability to walk on flat and uneven surfaces; up and down stairs and ladders.

         Able to lift from floor to waist, and waist to shoulders 25lb to 75lb at times

 

Shift:

         1st shift - Mon-Fri 6am-2pm plus OT as required.

         Eight hour workdays are expected during the week, with occasional overtime and weekend hours. 

         This position deals with numerous interruptions throughout the day.
