On behalf of the RAND Corporation, Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking Part-Time School Based Interviewers to work on the Partnerships for Social and Emotional Learning Initiative (PSELI) study. The PSELI study will focus on the effectiveness of SEL programs and practices, and on the alignment between schools and after-school programs.

The study will occur in six communities across the United States including Boston, MA, Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, Palm Beach County, FL, Tacoma, WA and Tulsa, OK. This is an hourly paid position and is expected to require approximately 40 hours, which will be spread across several weeks in Spring 2018; weekly hours will vary. Hourly rate is commensurate with experience. Mileage reimbursement will be provided if travel between multiple school sites occurs on the same day.


As a Part-Time School Based Interviewer, you will:
  • Conduct in-person interviews and focus groups with elementary school and after-school instructors and administrators
  • Working collaboratively with the RAND project team to complete project goals
  • Attend a required virtual training (approximately four hours) on interview and focus group methods and protocols in April 2018
  • Provide personal, reliable transportation to and from the various school sites

Project Schedule:
  • Projected inception of spring 2018 (the data collection period will be set with each community and could occur as early as April 2018 or as late as June 2018)

Requirements of a Part-Time School Based Interviewer:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience conducting interviews for research purposes required
  • Qualitative research training preferred
  • Organized, professional, thoughtful, thorough, and able to problem solve on site
  • Disciplined research practices with excellent communication skills

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent local travel to respondent locations
  • Be exposed to fumes and odors as might be expected in varied environments
  • Communicate through speech and listening
  • Read text and effectively communicate study expectations to respondents
  • Transport any necessary study equipment and materials
