On behalf of our client, Headway Workforce Solutions is now accepting applicants for an experienced Water Jet Operator in the Norwalk, California area for Second Shift!

Job Description

The water jet operator is primarily responsible for the operation of the Flow Water Jet machine, in which the individual will use work instructions and drawings to accurately produce a variety of parts.

The Water Jet Operator Will:

  • Read work orders and blueprints to determine machine setup, type of material, and finished product dimensions.
  • Be mindful when handling products to keep company quality standards.
  • Enter coordinate information into computer panel, align machine accessories, and fabricate parts made of stainless, galvanized, and mild steel.
  • Assist department with other tasks as needed

Physical Demands

Applicants must acknowledge that physical demands are required to successfully fulfill this position. Water Jet Operators will stand for 90% of the shift, have to lift 50lbs or 1/3rd of their bodyweight, and properly wear any required protective eyewear/clothing. 

Qualifications

  • Must have Water Jet Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must have an understanding of blueprints/drawings, specifications, and other written instructions
  • Knowledge of measuring instruments (calipers, tape measure, ruler, etc.) and understand geometric tolerance and dimensions  
  • Ability to operate a fork truck preferred
  • Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands, and is able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected work events.

Hours:                   Second Shift ; must work overtime (OT) when asked

Pay Rate:             $15 - $19 / hourly; Depending on Experience
