Job Description

The Modal Shop is seeking a highly motivated person to lead our talented NDT Team in reaching corporate goals in business development and growth.

Qualifications:

Special Training/Accreditation: Industry experience in the areas of NDT, Powder Metal forming, Ductile Iron casting or Process Controls is desired. A 4-year technical degree with 20 plus years of strategic and consultive selling experience in a manufacturing or process related industries is desired. A proven track-record to lead a team, facilitate business growth, develop new customers and sell at a corporate level is desired.

Job Requirements: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (outlook, Work, Excel and PowerPoint). Must be able to perform the essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to lift and move parts up to 25 pounds for sales demonstrations and promotions. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours for tradeshow and customer demonstrations.

Basic Function:

Follow all TMS procedures and forms in compliance to ISO 9001

Strategic Selling of NDT product line focused on leveraging multiple system sales to the TMS high probability applications. Provides TCS sales and application support for NDT-RAM product line. Up to 50% travel may be required at times.

Responsibilities:

  1. All actions guided by The MTS Global Code of Ethical Business Conduct – Leading with Integrity.

  2. Promotes teamwork, cooperation and commitment to “Total Customer Satisfaction” among team members.

  3. Develops, promotes, ensures compliance with and supports continuous improvement of the MSQS system.

  4. Leads, coaches and assists NDT team members in achieving corporate, team and personal goals.

  5. Cooperates as a member of the TMS team.

  6. Coordinate global sales opportunities with NDT team, all distributors, reps and end customers

  7. Ensures the NDT team provides rapid response to requests within 24 hours when possible.

  8. Penetrate automotive supply chain to facilitate standardizing NDT-RAM methodology and penetrate market.

  9. Identify international target list in conjunction with marketing for customers to feed into TMS international sales offices.

  10. Develop key account selling plans that focus on assisting customers in strategic long-term planning to generate multiple system orders.

  11. Refine scalable sales model with parts testing process, rentals, multi-system sales.

  12. Interact with key decision makers within customer organizations in the TMS NDT-RAM high probability applications to facilitate and deliver multiple systems sales through selling into senior level management and new part R&D.

  13. Take an active role and drive daily NDT Department activities.

  14. Lead business development targeting annual double digit revenue growth.

  15. Develop NDT internal sales activities, processes and technologies to organize, streamline and execute department efforts to meet company goals and guidelines.

  16. Initiation of Cost Estimate and Justification form for any non-standard product that is to be included in a quote

  17. Work with NDT Product Manager to complete Cost Estimate and Justification form to facilitate development of NMI for any new product to be quoted.

  18. Work with NDT Product Manager and Engineering Team to prioritize new product development.

  19. Work with NDT Product Manager and Marketing Team to develop product collateral, including manuals, data sheets, web content, newsletters, application notes and other marketing materials.

General Staff Support

  1. Provides general sales support and phone coverage for customers when needed.

  2. Responds to a wide range of written and phoned customer inquiries. Drafts correspondence, presentation and detailed sales proposal to NDT customers.

  3. Equipment and technical training, including customer and technical seminars.

  4. Attend technical tradeshows, professional society meetings, author and present as needed to support general NDT and strategic selling opportunities.

  5. Lead strategic sales effort and customer mapping process. Helps coordinate NDT team activities to ensure optimum communication, scheduling and team work.

  6. Write trip reports in a timely fashion.

  7. Write QC/OI based on customer issues, product problems and MSQS.

  8. Perform other related duties as assigned.
