The Big Expectations

The General Manager (GM) has overall responsibility for effectively managing all membership, fitness, and operational functions within the gym to achieve financial success and provide the best member and team member experience. The GM partners with the Franchise Owner to recruit, hire, train and develop a diverse, high performance team that delivers on UFC Gym goals and reflects its values.

Here is what we need you to drive and what you will be held accountable for:

  • Properly manage and maintain gym operational budget.
  • Oversee membership sales and systems.
  • Personal training sales and fitness assessments
  • Merchandise and apparel sales
  • Work with owners and Franchise Marketing team on marketing efforts
  • Manage, monitor and evaluate the performance of all gym-related managers.
  • Monitor the hiring, training and scheduling of all gym level staff.
  • Establish a fun, safe, healthy, and community-focused gym culture that delivers high member satisfaction and achieves maximum profitability.
  • Be a role model for member service behavior by walking through gym and collecting member feedback to identify training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Resolve elevated gym member concerns; conduct on-the-spot coaching to prevent them from reoccurring.
  • Monitor gym appearance and ensure problems are resolved in a timely manner; Ensure cleanliness is a top priority as this is a top requirement from customers.
  • Ensure maximum retention of members and work on various programs to harbor retention, renewals, and minimum amount of cancellations
  • Provide and maintain the highest level of customer service in a high-volume retail environment through personal actions and development of staff.
  • Plan and promote special events for the gym on a monthly and/or quarterly basis, using corporate marketing as needed.

And we would like to see this as well…

  • High School Diploma with five years professional experience. College degree preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with open, participative leadership style and drive for excellence.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple site operations?
  • Understanding of performance metrics including P&L, revenue, budgeting, inventory, payroll, cost controls and facilities maintenance.
  • Monitor competition and follow current developments.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree and two years management experience preferred.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
