Position Summary:

Create category insights through the combined use of scheduled, repeating reporting and ad hoc analysis of merchandising data. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions:

• Collect and validate data from internal systems and supplier sources
• Question and resolve data inconsistencies from internal/external sources to support fact-based conclusions
• Drive small to medium-sized analytics processes and projects under the guidance of cost management analysts and the collaborative category optimization (CCO) manager.
• Assist in the preparation of supply market research to determine market trends/insights.
• Conduct key analyses, including financial, market, commodity pricing, and supplier performance analyses
• Exercise judgment while preforming key analysis to balance data gleaned and category relevance
• Draw insights from the analytical review process and make recommendations to business partners that support multiple supplier category negotiations while driving total category margin enhancements
• Create category improvement projections and conduct post-implementation variance analyses
• Assist managers in identifying capabilities and processes that drive continuous improvement
• Travel to conduct supply market research
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Experience analyzing and interpreting data
• Ability to become proficient in the use of financial statements and programs to retrieve information (e.g. KCMSDW, Business Objects)
• Ability to synthesize analyses into compelling written communications
• Ability to collaborate and work with and through committees
• Highly organized and proficient at multi-tasking
• Strong computer skills
• Proficient in Excel
• Effective oral/written communication skills

Desired Previous Job Experience/Education:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Previous experience in a data analysis role
• Knowledge of Kroger merchandising processes
