Position Summary:

Support and troubleshoot all industrial control systems and networks. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety, Quality, Reliability (SQR) and our Customer 1st strategy. Essential Job Functions:
  • Run diagnostic tests and repair malfunctioning equipment in all areas of plant automation.
  • Commission control systems, troubleshoot operational issues, perform equipment and process instrumentation calibration including flow and pressure transmitters, and level sensors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance; ensure stock of critical spares, properly input data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), execute work orders, back up programs and keep prints and manuals current.
  • Troubleshoot and commission all industrial control systems and networks, including: Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), process control; Servo; Wonderware Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA); Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs); Human Machine Interface (HMI); and robotics and industrial networks.
  • Troubleshoot all programmable logic control (PLC), HMI, motor and motor control problems.
  • Perform Input/Output (I/O) checks, PLC upgrades, and control system backups; maintain and update documentation.
  • Drive operational improvement and cost reduction by enhancing industrial control schemes.
  • Troubleshoot control network problems. Support the architecture and parameters of the network for PLCs, Wonderware and process databases.
  • Complete assigned work orders, write work requests and collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot and repair processing and packaging equipment.
  • Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.
  • Accountable to the Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Associate's degree in electronics or related field.
  • 2 -5 years industrial controls experience using Allen Bradley, and RS Logix (ControlLogix, Simatic, PanelView Plus, RSView ME,) and similar control platforms.
  • Proficient knowledge of related software (AutoCAD, RSLogic, RSLinx, RSView ME, Wonderware, MS Office).
  • Working knowledge of all automation standard practices as defined by the Instrument Systems and Automation (ISA).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
Desired Previous Job Experience
  • 2-5 years of food manufacturing experience.
  • 2-5 years of industrial maintenance and PLC experience.
  • 2-5 years of electrical and mechanical experience.
  • Sound knowledge of electricity and electrical controls, lubrication, preventive maintenance, pneumatics, welding, and hydraulic systems.
  • Knowledgeable in electrical circuits, welding, pneumatics, hydraulics, refrigeration, and boiler operation.
  • Boiler Operator license and 3 or more years of experience operating high pressure boilers.
  • Ammonia Operator Level 1 and 2 training; 3+ years of experience with ammonia and glycol refrigeration systems.
