Staff Accountant - Akron OH - $50 to $55k
Our client in Akron is looking for a Staff Accountant!
This will be a permanent position and the starting salary range is $50-55K, depending on level of experience.

This role will ensure compliance and provide top notch support to internal customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the daily operations of accounting department including general accounting and accounts payable
- Completes sales tax filings ensuring they are completed timely and accurately
- Monitors accuracy and compliance of sales tax for point of sale purposes
- Prepares regulatory reports and assists in filing those reports with local, state, and federal agencies
- Provides recommendations and analysis to accounting management team
- Effectively works with other department leaders and managers to provide information as necessary
- Assists with monthly and annual close process including accruals, and reconciliations; Assists with annual external audits
- Completes special projects as required
- Must be able to analyze and solve more complex accounting and business problems
- Ability to communicate successfully with employees at all levels of the organization
- Must demonstrate the ability to be disciplined, self-motivated, self-managed and be able to multi-task
- Willingness to work in a team environment and to do what is necessary to ensure timely completion of financial statements
- Knowledge of financial/business analysis techniques
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively within company
- Demonstrated advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, including advanced functions
- Ability to interpret accounting information and to institute procedure, and/or operational corrections and modification
- Must maintain highly confidential information
- Demonstrated knowledge of general ledger and accounting software packages
- Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
- 2+ years of related accounting experience
- Multi-site retail experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Solid verbal and written communications skills
- Advanced Excel required
- ACCPAC experience preferred
