Staff Accountant - Full-time / Part-time

Staff Accountant - Akron OH - $50 to $55k

Our client in Akron is looking for a Staff Accountant!

This will be a permanent position and the starting salary range is $50-55K, depending on level of experience.

This role will ensure compliance and provide top notch support to internal customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the daily operations of accounting department including general accounting and accounts payable
• Completes sales tax filings ensuring they are completed timely and accurately
• Monitors accuracy and compliance of sales tax for point of sale purposes
• Prepares regulatory reports and assists in filing those reports with local, state, and federal agencies
• Provides recommendations and analysis to accounting management team
• Effectively works with other department leaders and managers to provide information as necessary
• Assists with monthly and annual close process including accruals, and reconciliations; Assists with annual external audits
• Completes special projects as required

• Knowledge of financial/business analysis techniques
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively within company
• Demonstrated advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, including advanced functions
• Ability to interpret accounting information and to institute procedure, and/or operational corrections and modification
• Must maintain highly confidential information
• Demonstrated knowledge of general ledger and accounting software packages

Requirements:

• Bachelors in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of related accounting experience
• Multi-site retail experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Solid verbal and written communications skills
• Advanced Excel required
• ACCPAC experience preferred
