The magnitude of beauty at the Vail Marriott Mountain Resort (http://www.vailmarriott.com) is one that defines the elegance of a European Chateau with the back drop of the Rocky Mountains. The Vail Marriott Mountain Resort and Spa is now hiring a Restaurant Supervisor, Full Time Year Round.

 

Job Summary:

The Restaurant Supervisor will oversee multiple locations in the hotel including First Chair Cafe, Avalanche Pub,  Room Service and Starbucks barista window.  Responsible for ensuring that all Resort guests have the highest quality food and beverage experience possible while maintaining a profitable department that is environmentally responsible.   Manages the flow and proper execution of food and beverage operations.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensures that the guest experience is pleasant in regard to atmosphere, service and quality of food and beverage products by adhering to the Marriott brand/ performance standards.
  • Capable of creating a motivational atmosphere and a cohesive team.
  • Is actively involved in the operation through daily interaction with both the staff and Resort guests.  
  • Demonstrates proactive leadership qualities in both the daily operation of the department as well as in long-term visioning.
  • Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees and guests.
  • Ultimately responsible for the dining room’s appearance, consistency of set up, food and beverage service and quality of the experience. 
  • Ensures that all employees are in proper uniform and execute their job according to the Marriott and RockResorts brand performance standards.
  • Responsible for various administrative tasks including: scheduling to the forecasted business levels,  posting weekly schedules in a timely manner, monitoring weekly payroll, ensuring par levels are maintained and that all equipment is on hand and in excellent condition.
  • Enforces internal cost and labor controls.
  • Maintains excellent communication between different departments in the resort as well as within the food and beverage outlets.
  • Handles disciplinary issues that may arise in a prompt and professional manner according to resort guidelines.
  • Oversees the proper and safe use of all equipment.
  • Oversees the compliance of state liquor laws and all health regulations.
  • Complies with all Resort policies, procedures and standards of operation.
  • Performs any additional tasks or projects as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and comprehend English fluently. -required
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a guest service position. -required
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex correspondence, effectively present detailed information both verbally and in written form to guests, manager, and employees throughout the organization. -required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Work, Excel and Outlook. -required
  • TIPS certified or ability to obtain TIPS certification within 30 days. -required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push and pull up to 100 lbs. -required
  • Must be able to stand and walk up to 10 hours at a time. -required
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and evenings. -required
  • In-person interviews. -highly preferred
  • Resumes. -required
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality or business. -preferred
  • F&B experience. -preferred

  • Supervisory experience. -preferred
  • Ability to speak Spanish. -preferred
