JOB: Warehouse Specialist

DEPT:

JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The employee drives up & down aisles, stopping at bin locations, picking items from bins, loading them into containers on carts, & droping loads at specified locations for shipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • The employee inspects the equipment, loads Opti Pak bases, makes up Opti Pak containers & puts them onto the bases, & sets-up RF scanner equipment.
  • The employee drives equipment up & down Full Case aisles, stops at specific bin locations, steps down off of the equipment, lifts/carries goods to Opti Pak & puts the item/s into the Opti Pak.
  • The employee hooks up carts & drives to specific locations to get specific items which are lifted/loaded onto the carts. Separate items may be bundled by wrapping with tape.
  • The employee returns to the shipping area with the load & leaves the load at a specified location for shipment.

JOB TASKS:

Task 1: the employee performs a safety & mechanical check of the equipment.

Task 2: the employee sets up RF scanner on material mover, loads Opti Pak pallets & assembles(opens/folds/sets pak in its pallet), loads Opti Pak containers.

Task 3: the employee drives up & down aisle.

Task 4: the employee stops at designated locations, climbs down, goes to bin, picks items, scans items, & puts the items into the Opti Pak container. The employee places long items on a towed cart.

Task 5: the employee drives the filled containers to the Shipping Area.

Task 6: the employee picks up covers for the Opti Paks & places them on top of the Opti Paks.

Task 7: the employee will unhitch carts that have items that do not fit into the Opti Paks (lengths of pipe, ladders, garden tools, etc)

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS SPECIFICATIONS:

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be US citizen or legal alien.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must complete the company new hire period.
  • Must read, write, communicate in English as it relates to this job and safety regulations.
  • Must meet the ergonomic and physical requirements, as well as the physical base scores for this position.

GENERAL RULES:
  • Report ALL ACCIDENTS & file incident report to the Supervisor within 24 hours.
  • Get first aid IMMEDIATELY for ALL injuries.
  • Follow instructions. Whenever in doubt, ASK.
  • Report unsafe conditions to the Supervisor.
  • Horseplay is forbidden.
  • No running on the premises.
  • Know emergency evacuation routes, exits, and alarms.
  • Employees must wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) where required.
  • Use proper lifting procedures.
  • Keep floors and work areas clear and clean.
  • This is a smoke free organization. Smoking in designated areas only.
  • Employees are responsible for understanding company policy.
  • Know MSDS information about all materials used during work.
  • Must complete & follow all training per the New Hire Safety Orientation.
