2. Job Summary
 
The Administrator ensures and maintains regulatory compliance as mandated by licensing and Regional Centers. The Administrator ensures the health, well-being, and safety of the clients; maintains regular communication with conservators and other outside agency representatives; manages staffing and labor hours in order to provide the highest quality care and support to clients; and trains and mentors direct support professional staff.

  • Knowledge of Title 17 and 22
  • Knowledge of facility program design, knowledge of and adherence to the People’s Care Mission Statement, knowledge of Individual Program Plans
  • Knowledge of client service needs
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocol
  • Knowledge of behavioral plans
  • Knowledge of emergency disaster protocol, knowledge of abuse reporting protocol
  • Knowledge of accounting principles
  • Knowledge of human resources principles
  • Knowledge of personal and incidentals and profit and loss

4. Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and other special training as required by the program designs.
  • ARF certificate
  • Component 1 class. DSP I and DSP II certificates
  • CPR/FA and CPI certification
  • 3-5 years experience in the field working with clients with developmental disabilities
  • 2 years minimum supervisory experience in a level 4 ARM

5. Essential Functions

  • Purchase groceries, household supplies, and fuel within the allocated budget
  • Maintain open communication with conservators, family, service coordinators, and/or other client representatives/advocates regarding client health, well-being, and quality of life
  • Maintain appropriate staffing for the facility in accordance with the program design by hiring and training staff, generating schedules to ensure adequate supervision and support of the client, as well as by delegating those duties that will best serve the client and the needs of the home
  • Oversee daily business operations- i.e. client notes documentation, medication audits, personal and incidental funds disbursement and audits, physical plant inspections, maintenance of client and staff files, time card review and amendments, conduct annual performance evaluations and provide statement of discussions
  • Attend trainings as mandated by Regional Centers, People’s Care Inc. trainings and other outside management trainings
  • Communicate with staff regarding quality care assurance
  • Maintain safety compliance to prevent staff and client injury
  • Responsible for resident care such as scheduling medical appointments, following up on recommendations by the doctor and ensuring the well-being and the overall medical condition of the residents
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required

7. Physical Requirements
 
The Administrator frequently works in an indoor setting with occasional outside work. Occasional lifting 50 lbs. plus. Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, reaching, crouching, balancing, twisting, kneeling and running. Frequent traveling, walking, driving, keying/fingering, grasping, standing, sitting, hearing, talking, repetitive hand and finger movement are required. Must be on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

8. Other Requirements
 
This position will require a valid California ID or Driver’s License. Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to background check, physical etc. If required to drive, candidate must possess proof of valid insurance and registration. Must be at least 21 years of age to drive for People's Care.
