Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a candidate for the position of Construction Summer Intern in the Transportation Department in Stevens Point, WI. Work will consist of construction inspection and administration on WisDOT and local project.
Successful candidate will be based out of the Stevens Point office and may need to travel during the day or overnight for projects in the North Central Region. They will need to work independently and with other team members to complete quality WisDOT and local construction projects on time and within budgets.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
+ Prepare engineering related calculations
+ Assist with field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used.
+ Assist with construction administration and documentation of item quantities
+ Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Minimum Requirements
+ Candidates are required to be enrolled in a degree of Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology -- Highway Technician.
+ Willingness to learn WisDOT construction practices.
Preferred Qualifications
+ GPS and Survey equipment knowledge.
+ Familiarity with Civil 3D and AutoCad.
+ Familiarity with municipal, county, and non-WisDOT construction projects.
+ Familiarity with WisDOT: Standard Specifications and material certification requirements.
+ WisDOT material certifications including AGGTECH, PCCTECH, Nuclear Density.
