Manual Lathe Operator
- Looking for a Manual Lathe Operator with experince. Please call 832-604-2255 if you are interested. We also accept walk ins 12127 Jones Rd. Houston TX 77088
Perform machining operations on manual lathes up to 28” swing.
Essential Duties:
Turn the outside diameter of round bars; from 2” to 30” diameter both hollow tubes and solid bars; to specific close tolerances; plus/minus 0.005”.
Capable of indicating parts in 4-jaw chucks on hollow spindle and engine lathes.
Capable of aligning to the internal bore of parts by wall thickness testing and offsetting part; OD/ID concentric turning.
Able to machine contours, bevels and angles per prints or instructions.
Read and understand blueprints.
Select tool holders and carbide tool geometry plus carbide grades to machine all types of materials including incoloy and inconel grades.
Working use of O.D. and I.D. micrometers as well as T-mike wall thickness testers.
Able to use additional measuring equipment and calculate math equations.
Capable of setting machine parameters to achieve surface finish requirements on materials and optimum use of carbide tools.
Must have complete set of hand tools plus indicators, measuring rules and tapes; OD and ID micrometers are available for use. Employee owned 0”-6” OD micrometers helpful
