About this job
Position Summary: Oversees recruiting, training, management, budget compliance, and overall operations of 12 or more restaurants while ensuring excellent customer service, high quality foods, crew development, food safety, store cleanliness, and maximum profitability. Acts as a liaison between restaurants and corporate staff and focuses on Chipotle’s culture and values.
In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
• Developing General Managers into successful Restaurateurs (R2-R4) and Apprentice Team Leaders
• Achieving and maintaining “Operational Excellence” which includes: strong financials, successful and well-developed crew and staff, and pristine restaurants that serve excellent food
• Maintaining and driving high standards and expectations around food quality, customer service, food safety, and store cleanliness in every restaurant overseen
• Driving all aspects of the restaurants’ performance and serving as ultimate decision-maker for stores overseen
• Engaging in clear, consistent communications with corporate and restaurant staff on a frequent basis
• Demonstrating respect for individual employees and appreciation for their efforts and contributions
• Ensuring the compliance of internal policies and procedures (e.g., people, safety, assets, cash, etc.)
Qualifications: Education/Training
• A.A. in related field or an equivalent in education and experience
• B.A./B.S. preferred
Knowledge/Skills
• Knowledge of and the ability to perform every other job in the restaurant
• Strong supervisory and organizational skills
• Ability to identify top performers, develop great managers, ensure high standards and remove obstacles
• Excellent knowledge and the ability to be committed to the culture and values of the company
• Ability to be a top performer
• Advanced ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the work location
• Knowledge of and ability to use a PC as well as MS Office Suite
• Knowledge of local store marketing preferred
Work Experience
• Proven success as an Apprentice Team Leader
• Experience in developing at least four (4) Restaurateurs
• Experience overseeing eight (8) restaurants
