JOB SUMMARY

Leads Information Technology (iT) Business Partnership and Planning (BPP) for Consumer Direct Channels in partnership with Marriott discipline and iT leaders as appropriate.  The VP, IT BPP will serve as the primary interface for iT, and account leader for iT into the discipline.  The leader will implement and maintain processes for relationship management, demand management, discipline technology strategy, roadmap development and maintenance, and measuring overall satisfaction with iT.  The leader must demonstrate a broad understanding of Marriott’s business, technology and the various disciplines involved to make and influence key decisions that ensure the success of the programs.

 

This role will be aligned with the discipline VP of Digital Guest Experience, with a focus on enabling the success of iT in the following discipline areas:

CANDIDATE PROFILE

 
Education and Experience
 
Required:
 
  • 10+ years of IT or business management leadership experience
  • Experience managing multi-year programs enabled by complex information technology capability development and implementation
  • Direct management of complex budgets in excess of $10M direct and indirect costs
  • Direct management of cross functional, sourced, or matrix teams
 
 
Preferred:
  • Graduate degree.
  • Experience with development of program management governance and execution processes
  • Significant experience and success in implementing new business applications with complex technology integration and business process change on time, on budget, and with high client satisfaction.
  • Experience acting as a the primary account management for assigned business disciplines coupled with an In-depth understanding of business discipline and operational needs
  • Experience with business process re-engineering.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with executives and delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others.
  • Excellent analytical skills where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.

Managing Programs

 
  • The role will organize program management teams and will achieve results through directing and influencing the program work streams of multiple IT and disciplines in this leadership role
  • Monitors program budget and project estimates
  • Implement programs, concepts, products or services to identify operational implications prior to implementations
  • Assist in setting strategic direction of application or product functionality to meet business requirements; communicate technology direction with internal and external stakeholders in order to obtain alignment and commitment on direction
  • Partner with the discipline program management and IT build leader to ensure the strategy, solution and roadmap plans are met
  • Coordinate efforts of multiple program work streams to deliver the end solution
  • Determines appropriate business needs and business cases for the implementation of technology solutions
  • Verifies completeness and accuracy of business requirements
  • Ensure clarity and understanding of business cases by the IT participants and aligns delivery outcomes with the strategy and benefits.
  • Aligns projects with short and long-range business plans, and with IT build and architecture
  • Verifies technology project plans, costs, schedules, and deliverables meet business need.
  • Serves as primary project liaison with business partner(s).
