Position Summary:

The Creative Services Department provides solutions to Marriott International’s internal clients for a range of audio, visual, digital/multimedia, collateral design, photography, and event production needs. The Art Director, Creative Services is responsible for concepting and creating print, digital & video media, presentations, motion graphics, embedded video graphics, logos/branding, and other marketing and promotional materials for internal Marriott International clients. The Art Director, Creative Services will manage the Creative Services Graphic Design team, and report directly to the Director, Creative Content Strategy, Creative Services.

 

 

Expected Contributions:

This position is responsible for overseeing the overall creative graphic design content for the Creative Services team, to include:

  • Ability to lead brainstorms, concept, comp and present innovative ideas that garner buy-in from peers and clients while netting measureable results
  • Aid in recruiting, managing and mentoring a team of designers and creatives, giving clear direction and feedback
  • Combining art and technology to communicate ideas through images.
  • Develops creative design, presentations, production layouts, infographics, and provides support for assigned projects
  • Designs collateral and logos with close attention to typography. Adjusts and uses photography and illustrations effectively
  • Works with all levels of corporate management with efficiency to produce quality deliverables and contribute to the success of various projects and events
  • Creative evolution – stay up to date with branding and trends in all mediums
  • Must be a team player, able to work within budgets and tight deadlines on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Position Requirements:

Successful candidates should possess knowledge and experience as follows:

  • Exceptional portfolio reflecting 8-10 years of experience in graphic design/art direction, preferably at an agency
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects of competing priority and complexity without compromising quality or brand standards
  • Ability to work in a complex technical environment while collaborating with all levels of staff through executive management to produce high quality designs and media
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with clients, vendors, staff and executives. Keen ability to maintain composure in a highly pressurized environment
  • Strong design sensibility – mastery of design software applications in Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); animation and motion graphics capabilities a plus
  • Well-versed in digital design/UI experience/web design (programming background a plus)
  • Maintains awareness of current design trends as well as different styles of design to execute design projects
  • Well versed in Macintosh applications including Adobe Creative Cloud, Keynote and PowerPoint. Video editing experience is a plus
  • Excellent typographical and concept design skills essential
  • Stays abreast of technological advances that improve design processes and product

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing with 8-10 years of relevant experience
