JOB SUMMARY

This position leads the QA function for the Marriott data platform.   The role is responsible for the quality of all new programs developed on the data platform across a $10M-15M annual project portfolio. 

 

You will define data quality standards, build the case for test automation and ensure that all newly developed processes are of acceptable quality.  You will mentor QA Analysts while overseeing oversee all QA deliverables of internal and external project teams developing on the Marriiott data platform. 

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

 
Education and Experience
 
Required:
  • 7+ years’ experience in information technology, developing test scripts and utilizing test tools in the Data Warehouse space
  • 4+ years’ experience in preparing test strategies, test cases and test data in the Data Warehouse space
  • 2+ years’ leading other internal/external test analyst resources
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience/certification
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree.
  • Data related certifications.
  • Experience working with third party development teams and offshore testing organizations.
  • Experience with Informatica, Netezza, Cognos, HiveQL, IBM BigInsights
  • Ability to work with UDF (User Defined Functions)
  • Demonstrated leadership ability across matrixed teams
 

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

 

Quality Assurance Leadership

  • Mentors and coaches program team members on Quality Assurance tasks and procedures.
  • Assists in setting best practice quality assurance procedures.
  • Reviews and edits product documentation including test strategy, test approach, test cases, test case results.
  • Establishes the flow of work within the Quality Assurance area.
  • Provides leadership and support to Quality Assurance inspections.
  • Functions as escalation for Quality Assurance analysts.
 

Managing Projects and Policies

  • Tests a variety of programs and systems for errors.
  • Specifies overall approach to creating test data and conditions for test scenarios.
  • Prepares testing schedules and documents expected results.
  • Reviews functional/technical specifications and requirements documents.
  • Leads the effort in preparing test plans/cases/scripts for software corrections and enhancements.
  • Facilitates the scheduling and performing testing, submitting errors/issues for correction.
  • Maintains awareness of new Quality Assurance methods.
  • Participates in the identification and monitoring of risks and issues.
