JOB SUMMARY
 

The Director Card Acquisitions, Global Card Program is a key member of the U.S. Cards Acquisitions Team. This role is responsible for developing marketing strategies to generate new card accounts for the American Express Luxury and Small Business portfolios, stimulating product awareness and consideration, and generating card member spend. 

 
CANDIDATE PROFILE 
Education and Experience Preferred 
  • At least a 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Finance, or Marketing. MBA degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience in Cards, payments, marketing or related function, demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance.
  • Significant marketing responsibility, preferably overseeing a credit card portfolio, with a track record of growth 
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES 

Acquisition Strategy and Planning

  • Recommend acquisition strategies and targets for Luxury Consumer and Small Business cards
  • Manage loyalty acquisition budgets, recommend funding allocation and priorities for cards, channels, and key initiatives
  • Partner with bank on acquisitions strategy including priorities, channel goals, and innovation
  • Evolve advertising & media strategies to drive awareness and consideration, in partnership with agency and bank. 

Omni-Channel Acquisition

  • Develop marketing campaigns for Luxury Consumer and Small Business cards
  • Work with Analytics to develop propensities and modeling to effectively identify and target affluent consumers
  • Work with Analytics to develop Small Business indicators and incorporate them into segmentation and targeting models
  • Manage campaign and segment optimization, as well as budgets to achieve acquisition KPIs.
  • Oversee marketing assets and offers across all internal marketing channels including digital, mobile, and email, partnering with channel owners
  • Optimize offers, partnering with the customer lifecycle marketing team to target the right offer in the member lifecycle 

External Paid Acquisition

  • Develop external acquisition campaigns, managing creative, and segment optimization to achieve acquisition KPIs.
  • Manages the development of all marketing assets and develop campaigns for key segments
  • Manage robust testing of different offers to optimize acquisition efficiency
