Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Commander Properties. The franchisee controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including the selection and hiring process. If you accept a position at this hotel you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International.

 

Main Responsibility:

Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed catering revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.

Job Description
  • Other Responsibilities Include:
  • Detail events including menus, audio-visual needs and set-up.
  • Manage some events including corporate and social, approximately 25% of the time
  • Prepare correspondence to customers, internal booking reports and file maintenance
  • Participate in sales, food and beverage, and daily business review meetings as required
  • Work with other departments in the hotel to provide quality service.
  • Attend networking events such as ILEA, MPI, Local Chamber events and NACE
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market trend, competition and customers.
  • Participate in the hotel's MOD program
  • Operate all programs including Galaxy Lightspeed, ISAC, Socialtables and Microsoft Office
Job Requirement:
  • Requires good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Management/supervisory experience 
  • Prior Hospitality experience
  • Excellent people skills and pleasant personality
  • Ability to work under deadlines
  • Flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Microsoft, Internet and computer knowledge
  • Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit
  • Preferred but Not Required:
  • Tips Certified, ServSafe Certified preferred 
  • Preferred sales and/or food & beverage background
  • Hotel Operations knowledge.
  • Other industry certifications such as PBC, CSEP, CMP, etc.
