Sage Hospitality is looking for a new Director of Sales and Marketing for the storied, architectural icon rooted in the city's legendary past, The Blackstone Hotel. This recently renovated destination is blooming as a point of cultural and creative discovery. The South Loop Chicago Hotel offers modern accommodations with views of Lake Michigan and Grant Park, acclaimed dining at the Mercat a la Planxa, craft cocktails and entertainment at Timothy's Hutch. The Blackstone is home to 335 newly upgraded rooms and suites, as well as an impressive collection of flexible and sophisticated spaces for corporate meetings and weddings in downtown Chicago.


We are in search of an experienced DOSM with strong leadership abilities that can guide and mentor the a large sales team, and preferably someone with an understanding of the Chicago market.


The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for all aspects of sales, analyzing and achieving strategic objectives and business growth goals. Demonstrates excellent leadership and communication skills with associates, guests and owners. Directs sales associates, builds sales budgets and marketing/business plans, while ensuring the hotel is protected and inventory controls are in place. Ensures all operations are in alignment with the vision of the General Manager, Company and brand standards. Delivers quality service, achieves financial goals and implements short and long term strategies.


Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of hotel sales management experience
  • Requires knowledge of general sales techniques, yield management, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to Travel and multi-task
  • Requires effective business writing ability and communications skills
  • Vision to read fine print and computer screens, to see colors, to observe rooms in poorly lit conditions
  • Understand and follow verbal/written instructions
  • Develop strong internal and customer relations
