Our Client is a grower, processor, and distributor of over 15 different varieties of fresh vegetables harvested year-round and more than 50 different packaged value-added products. The bilingual human resource generalist will perform duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: orientation, presentation benefits management, maintaining personnel files, supporting the HR Sr. Business Partner and Sr. Director of Corp Strategy & HR/ Immigration Compliance, all HR administration functions as needed.

This position requires an extremely detailed person who is able to work with all types of ethnicity and cultures at all levels within the organization. The Generalist must be sensitive to corporate fast pace environment, employee goodwill and business needs.

Essential Functions:

  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency to be able to write, read and speak to employees at all levels   
  • Maintains all employee personnel files
  • Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action 
  • Manage the exit interview process
  • Coaches, counsels and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions
  • Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary
  • Assists in supporting the recruitment lead as needed through the orientation process and conduct new hire orientation 
  • Distributes multiple reports (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly) 
  • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audits Forms I-9 
  • Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner (i.e., three months, six months, one year and yearly thereafter)
  • Updates, monitors and maintains eligible salary adjustments/increases based on three-and six-month and one-year evaluations working with the Sr. HR Business Partner
  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Reviews benefits of employees and processes enrollment, cancellation or changes.
  • Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process.
  • Maintains and distributes a list of new and canceled employees under each benefit plan.
  • Verifies benefit billing accuracy and works with accounting for processes for payment 
  • Works with third-party COBRA vendor for group health plans 
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs 
  • Managing the H2A & H2B immigration program process
  • Work with HRIS administrator as needed to pull various supporting reports
  • Manage all other duties as needed.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in human resources management, business administration and/or industrial-organizational psychology and/or 2-4 years in similar role
