About this job

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Transports merchandise from the receiving dock to the appropriate location. Accurately stock full case merchandise in the proper location.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:

Move freight, stock, or other materials or perform other general labor. The employee drives to Receiving area, moves materials from receiving to specified storage slots in the warehouse racking, and backfills bins by lowering materials from upper slots to lower slots.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The employee drives a lift truck to the receiving area, picks-up a pallet and takes the pallet to a specified location in the warehouse. The employee raises the load overhead and inserts the load into a specified bin location and returns for another pallet. The employee goes to specified bin locations, moves the pallet with materials from overhead location and inserts it into a ground level selection bin. The employee consolidates pallet loads in the ground level selection bins.

ERGONOMIC AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Shift hours: Varies. Typically 8, 9, or 10 hours

Max lift/carry: 85 lbs.

Job Cycles: Continual, not rigorous

Max pull static: <45 lbs.

Step: 35 Squat: 20 Wrist: 3 Flex: 6

WORKING CONDITIONS/CONTEXT:
  • Requires walking, bending or twisting, stooping, climbing, reaching, carrying
  • Requires the ability to drive, steer, and control material moving equipment
  • Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work non-traditional shifts and hours.
