Los Feliz Assistant Shopkeeper

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is searching for Assistant Shopkeepers for scoop shops in LA (in Los Feliz to be specific)!

Our mission is to make better ice creams and build community. Our scoop shops are at the heart of how we serve this mission. They are where we offer the ice creams we work so hard to build from the ground up, and they are where people come together to share joy and conversation.

We love people. We love ice cream. We view ice cream as a form of art.

The job of the Assistant Shopkeeper is to partner with and support the Shopkeeper and Shop team by training and role modeling exceptional customer service, beautiful scooping, hustling through lines and late night deep cleaning, and treating all customers and team members with care and respect. The dynamic leadership duo of Shopkeeper and Assistant Shopkeeper runs their shop like it’s their company (while having all of Team Jeni’s there to support them.) They hire, train, schedule, and manage a team of 10-30 Ice Cream Ambassadors while learning about customer service, people management, and soulful entrepreneurship.

We’re growing, and as we grow we will need new Shopkeepers. The best way to hire an exceptional Shopkeeper is to promote an exceptional Assistant Shopkeeper. We think our Assistant Shopkeeper role is the best career development opportunity out there.

The qualified Assistant Shopkeeper candidate:

• Has a great work ethic, a good heart, exceptional judgement, smarts, and common sense
• Is energetic, positive, and a skillful communicator
• Is organized and excels in a team environment
• Is creative, resourceful, and a strong problem solver
• Is calm under pressure
• Has a knowledge and appreciation of what makes our ice creams so splendid
• Prior management experience, particularly in the service industry, is a plus but is not required.
