IT Restaurant Systems Manual QA Engineer (Long-term Contract) (18007173) Description

The IT Lab Engineer manages simple and complex lab environments, providing support and service to the rest of the business in order to drive the success of projects. S/he also performs moderately complex application testing, requiring planning, scheduling, and testing to assure that developed products meet design specifications and are within total quality management limits and standards. S/he will maintain up to date documentation on all aspects of the lab environments, and will collaborate closely with systems and development teams across the business. The Engineer will operate within a restaurant systems services and support team and report to the Quality Assurance Manager.


Responsibilities:

In addition to following Chipotle’s policies and procedures, principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


•Writing and executing manual tests for restaurant systems solutions including, but not limited to, Point of Sale and all accompanying modules and enhancements, scheduling, inventory, and payment

•Collaborating with restaurant systems team to ensure requirements are clearly documented and understood

•Researching and developing an understanding of the requirements for features being tested

•Creating test plans and test cases for assigned modules; building test scenarios with help from team as needed

•Writing test plans and regression plans for all areas of the system; may also test projects that originate from the IT department

•Investigating and resolving technical issues in the testing process, such as identifying data issues through SQL queries and communicating issues with various departments

•Performing risk analysis and communicating risks associated with code releases

•Performing database verification by executing SQL queries to ensure requirements are being met

•Keeping record of test progress and results using Rally and Microsoft Test Manager

•Reporting progress of project testing to project team via standup meetings

•Experience verifying cross platform including mobile applications


The ideal candidate will:

•Have general functional testing skills and understanding of the SQE process

•Have solid knowledge of testing process, procedure, and best practices along with a demonstrated ability to perform and analyze results of planned upgrades and changes in multiple complex POS environments

•Be familiar with installing, troubleshooting, and configuring Aloha Point of Sale Quick Service, Configuration Center (CFC), Aloha TakeOut (ATO), Aloha Kitchen, Command Center (CMC), MenuLink, Altametrics eRestaurant, or similar POS and back office software

•Be familiar with supporting, configuring, installing, upgrading, and maintaining NCR or similar POS hardware and devices such as, but not limited to, tablets, terminals, kiosks, handheld devices, servers, printers, kitchen display systems, etc.

•Be familiar with automated testing using Selenium Web Driver, NUnit, Visual Studio, Fiddler, AngularJS, NodeJS, and Jasmine, including scripting using a framework, executing and debugging scripts

•Preferably have knowledge of Selenium Servers, other scripting languages such as C#, Microsoft Release Manager, and Continuous Integration

•Have experience executing and maintaining automated functional, non-functional, and regression tests

•Be able to accurately estimate task durations and meet schedules in an Agile software development environment

•Possess knowledge of web functionality and HTML

•Have experience working with an Agile development team

•Possess a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle

•Be flexible and able to adapt to any given situation

•Have a customer-focused attitude, with excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

•Be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills

•Experience working with development team and shared source control systems such as TFS and Git.

•Have the ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions

•Make timely and sound decisions

•Be able to multi-task in an effective manner and work successfully in a fast-paced environment

•Work well in either a team setting or independently, producing required results without close supervision

•Have the ability to work well under pressure and in high-stress situations

•Be self-motivated, requiring limited supervision or direction

•Manage information and data in a confidential and professional manner

•Have a B.A./B.S. in MIS or Computer Science, or an equivalent in education and experience

•Possess three (3) to five (5) years of application testing experience, plus two (2) to three (3) years of end-user web experience

•Enjoy minimal travel
