As the Sr. Accountant - External Reporting you will be responsible for ensuring accurate presentation of the financial records, by providing accounting support and preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and financial analysis. This role will assist with the consolidation of the Company's subsidiaries and the preparation of the Company's internal reporting decks on a monthly basis. On a quarterly basis, this position will assist in the compilation of the support for the Company's external press release and financial report. This position will work directly with varying levels of management and business partners throughout the organization using various forms of communication when accomplishing these tasks. Additionally, this role will provide analysis, support and coordination of projects and initiatives.

What you'll do
- Handle the monthly close responsibilities (journal entries, variance analysis, account reconciliations and management inquiries) associated with the functional areas within Ace.
- Identify, propose and implement process improvements or accounting changes to simplify or streamline the process and ensure accuracy in the accounting.
- Prepare higher level, more complex ad-hoc reports and analysis as assigned by management.
- This will require analysis, interpretation of the results, and presentation of risks, findings, and recommendations to management and assistance implementing any business or process changes.
- Work with the business partners to gain an understanding of the area, determine the root cause of any issues identified, propose process improvements, assist with the implementation of the process improvements, and document and monitor controls relating to the area.
- Lead or assist on projects designed to improve accounting efficiency or drive higher quality results.
- Prepare supporting schedules and tie-out for the Company's quarterly press release and financial report.
- Research accounting guidance to determine the proper treatment of new transactions or contracts
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Experience with SAP preferred
- CPA or MBA preferred
- 5+ years of work experience in a financial/accounting capacity
- 2+ years of work experience in external reporting
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and data mining skills
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles
- Excellent project/time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to successfully interact with management throughout the organization
