Material Handler - Full-time

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

Accurately fills customer orders for full case merchandise by matching stock number and selecting proper quantity ordered. Items will either be filled by the case or individually. Delivers merchandise to the shipping department staging area.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES:

Move freight, stock, or other materials or perform other general labor. Travel through warehouse aisles, select items for retail store orders, prepare items for transport.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Performs a safety & mechanical check of the equipment. Prepare RF scanner, equipment, and containers for use. Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from warehouse locations, loading docks or containers, by hand or using personnel carriers or other equipment. Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information. Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets.

ERGONOMIC AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Shift hours: Varies. Typically 8, 9, or 10 hours

Max lift/carry: 85 lbs.

Job Cycles: Continual, measured, rigorous

Max pull static: <20 lbs.

Step: 40 Squat: 24 Wrist: 3 Flex: 7.5

• Requires walking, bending or twisting, stooping, climbing, reaching, carrying
• Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls

• Requires face-to-face discussions with individuals or teams
• Requires working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or cold (below 50 F degrees) temperatures
• Requires repeating the same physical activities or mental activities over and over
• Requires being exact or highly accurate
• Requires working indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions
• Moderate noise, conditions could include odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.

• Measure, weigh, or count products or materials
• Use two-way radio or mobile phone
• Perform safety inspections in manufacturing or industrial setting

• Package goods for shipment or storage
• Load, unload, or stack containers, materials, or products
• Wrap products

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Ability and willingness to work non-traditional shifts and hours.
