We are searching for a unique individual who has the drive and passion to work with the best in the Distribution Center Industry while leading a team which supports the West Jefferson, Ohio Facility. This key role is responsible for technical management of a 500,000 square foot facility, including building maintenance, sanitation, safety and loss prevention. A primary challenge of this role is to create and maintain a safety culture in the work place that is behavior based and emphasizes team member involvement and personal responsibility. This position also negotiates and manages contract relations for a range of services and utilities to the facility, and ensures efficient and cost effective building operations. This individual will manage a team of maintenance mechanics, janitors, and loss prevention representatives with responsibility for setting long-term direction, establishing priorities and work standards, and building an effective team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Plan, direct, and supervise loss prevention, maintenance, special building maintenance project and housekeeping personnel. Analyze and evaluate security operations. Identify, investigate, and resolve potential security breaches. In conjunction with Distribution Center operations leadership, develop and/or recommend security procedures for operations, access control, reporting, etc. Responsible for receipt of all capital purchases. Oversee and develop sustainability initiatives. Know and follow Distribution Center facility best practices. Lead the facility in all safety awareness, training, and practices. Responsible for accurate and legally compliant OSHA record keeping and reporting. Responsible for emergency management and disaster plans, working in conjunction with corporate Loss Prevention. Assist retail support management with investigations as it relates to safety and security of employees. Advise and assist management in adhering to Ace contract policies. Effectively negotiate critical services with multiple vendors.

WORKING CONDITIONS/CONTEXT:
  • Requires knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Requires knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules.
  • Requires knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective security operations for the protection of people, property, and at times, information or data.
  • Requires the ability to drive, steer, and control material moving equipment.
  • Requires face-to-face discussions with individuals or teams.
  • Requires the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and subordinates in writing and in person.
  • Requires working indoors in non-controlled environmental conditions.
  • Moderate noise, conditions could include odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience. Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability and willingness to work non-traditional shifts and hours.
