Project/Product Managers (PPM) are responsible for coordinating internal and external resources in order to successfully execute a product from concept to mass production.
- Own products through entire product life-cycle, from initial proposal, production, marketing and sales, through product retirement
- Contribute to the strategic planning process and ensure continuing alignment of the product strategy with overall company strategy
- Develop and prioritize detailed business and technical requirements, working alongside engineering to design, develop, and bring concepts to market
- Collaborate with sales and marketing on the go-to-market plan
- Communicate with customers, partners and internal stakeholders on product roadmap and strategy
- Act as the subject matter representative for development series outside the group with a deep understanding of use, function specifications, pricing technical and market differentiators. Works hand in hand with the concept leads
- Will be actively engages with integration/QA teams to address issues and needs, recommend and drive enhancements to the product, and stay current on product updates and changes
- Ensure all development metrics are met, such as but not limited to; schedule, cost, requirements and quality
- Stay current on technical developments and trends
- Lead the execution of the design, analysis, or evaluation of projects using sound engineering principals and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirement
- Utilize project management principals that describe established norms, methods, processes, and practices for leading technical teams in the design through delivery stages
- Responsible for overall communication of development progress and status to management, sales, marketing, clients/customers, etc
- Ensure the documentation of technical data generated by the assigned projects is consistent with engineering policies and procedures
- Coordinate with various business functions to ensure the smooth transition of New product introductions from prototype through production life-cycles
- Ensure new designs meet pertinent functional, environmental, safety, and security standards for applicable markets and industries
- Solicit and manager component of product sourcing from 3 rd party vendors as necessary.
