Qualifications:

* Significant knowledge of and experience in service architecture and microservices

* Experience in two or more of the languages Java, PHP, Node.js, JavaScript, Python, or Golang. A polyglot developer with strong design pattern understanding is preferred due to the fluid nature of our team.

* Experience with various web frameworks for skilled languages, such as Spring Boot for Java, Laravel or Symphony for PHP, Express for Node, Angular, React, or even jQuery for JavaScript, Iris or Beego for Golang, Django or TurboGears for Python.

* Experience with and passion for OpenApi (Swagger) specs for strict API definition and documentation.

* Experience debugging, logging and tracking issues both locally and in deployed applications.

* Able to learn and adapt to new programming languages and technologies on an as-needed basis

* Comfortable accessing and manipulating various web and local data sources such as relational and NOSQL databases, and RESTful APIs.

* Comfortable working in Linux with an understanding of simple scripting and command line tools.

* Passionate about writing reusable code to empower teams with speed and standardization.

* Proven excellence in written and verbal communications for project status and needs to the team and project lead to minimize any impact of change

* Working source control knowledge including branching, merging, and rebasing

* Delivers well tested code, with automated tests when applicable, that teams can rely on

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, a related degree, or equivalent work experience

Bonus Points:

* Experience developing dynamic cloud based applications using solutions such as Kubernetes, Firebase, App Engine, Elastic Beanstalk, Azure App Service, and the various Serverless platforms like google Cloud Functions, Azure Functions, and Lambda.

* Minimally, a basic understanding and comfort with Docker containers and ideally, experience with orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, ECS, Swarm, etc.

* Experience with search engines such as Elasticsearch, Solar, or Endeca

* Experience with key/value stores like Redis or Memcache

* Experience with message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbotMQ, google Pub Sub, or Firebase Cloud Messaging

* Experience with authentication (OAuth2, SAML, etc)

* Understanding and experience with API Management / Gateway systems (Apigee, Incapsula, CA Api Gateway, etc)

* Understanding of infrastructure as code and related tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Chief, etc

* Understanding of CICD tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket or Gitlab Pipelines, etc.

* Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
