Description

Fleet Supervisor

Provides day to day leadership for maintenance policy and processes, shop and technician productivity, maintenance facilities, leased fleet, regulatory and policy compliance, supplier quality management, equipment technical and performance standards, and management of maintenance and asset systems to optimally utilize resources while minimizing costs.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Execute the asset management strategy for the addition, replacement and disposal of assets.
  2. Adhere to the fleet budget and be proactive on repair costs.
  3. Ensure maintenance shops are adequately staffed/scheduled and technicians are properly trained.
  4. Manage daily shop activities, focusing on labor, fleet purchases, and inventories.
  5. Implement business plans to improve shop performance.
  6. Ensure safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements.
  7. Implement cost reduction, customer and employee initiatives that drive value and support key company goals and strategic objectives.
  8. Execute corporate strategies and policies.
  9. Conduct fleet evaluations and audits to ensure maintenance standards are met.
  10. Responsible for all fleet related DOT, OSHA and EPA regulations.
  11. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  12. Manage leasing company fleet and all outside maintenance vendors – monitor repairs and cost.
  13. Preventive maintenance program compliance.
  14. Build a strong working relationship with Sales and Ops leadership teams.
  15. Provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance data for fleet manager.
  16. Develop an internal and external communication channel to keep abreast of trucking industry changes.

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • 2 years of fleet supervisory experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL A)
