Description

Maintenance Mechanic II

The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining packaging and processing machinery such as fillers, cappers, case packers, box formers, hot melt sealing systems, printers, labelers, pumps, mixers and valves. Other equipment would be as motors, conveyor systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, production machines, HVAC systems, boilers, extractors, fractionators, homogenizers, material handling equipment, bulk delivery equipment, blending/mixing systems as well as general building maintenance.

Shift and Schedule

This is a full time permanent position working on 3rd shift, 3rd shift hours are from 10:00pm - 6:30am Monday through Friday. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required as the business needs.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Analyze mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical problems and make repairs through adjustments, defective parts replacement, or fabrication.
  2. Wire moderately complex control circuits.
  3. Check, wire, and troubleshoot high voltage poly-phase and multi-speed motors. Install all types of conduit runs, EMT, rigid, stainless steel, and plastics.
  4. Calibrate and repair control elements in process loops.
  5. Perform soldering techniques on circuit board components.
  6. Fabricate, repair, and install hangers and all types of piping including hot/cold water, steam, process and condensate, utilizing formulas for all phases.
  7. Weld various types of metals.
  8. Machine most metals, plastics, and composites.
  9. Fabricate or replicate minor pieces for the repair or replacement of parts on equipment
  10. Perform preventative maintenance tasks on all equipment.
  11. Maintain proper levels of heat transfer medium in building heating system and cooling medium in process chilled water loop.
  12. Navigate and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs.
  13. Complete work orders and confirmations in SAP.
  14. Identify problems and completes repairs, with minimal downtime or supervision.

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • 3 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2 years of experience troubleshooting 3 phase (480V) Circuits, Motor starters and controls and electronic circuit boards
  • 2 years of prior Electrical and PLC trouble shooting experience
  • 2 years of prior experience of working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Lift, push, and pull 50 pounds repeatedly, walking and standing for long period of time
