Custodial Worker

Is based in our facility in San Leandro, CA
Hours are 6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Monday - Friday

The Custodial Worker is responsible for keeping the facility in a clean and orderly condition as well as facility maintenance and repair tasks throughout that will enable the safe and continuous operations of the facility.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Drive 5S with painting and maintaining the cleanliness of designated areas.
  2. Paint walls, floors, ceilings and other designated areas using sprayers, brushes, and other industrial painting equipment. Possess the knowledge needed to correctly assess, mix (with dryers or hardeners where appropriate), and apply the correct paint type where needed (floor paint, speed dry paint, dry fog paint, food grade paint, etc).
  3. Perform general upkeep and repairs on the facility including drywall, framing, painting, and finish work. This could include completing minor sheet rock repair, hanging mirrors for forklift traffic, making stencil signs and painting them throughout the facility, and repairing floors by running a jack hammer to break out bad places and replacing it with newly mixed concrete.
  4. Monitor the facility and recommend repairs or maintenance to the equipment or facility including roof, ceilings, and walls and notify supervisor concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
  5. Run industrial vacuum on top of offices to collect the dust build up, power wash walls and dock pits, and clean off all poles, rails, and painted surfaces throughout facility.
  6. Operate fork lift and high lift and use scaffolding and ladders as needed.
    Operate scrubber for warehouse floor.
  7. Perform all duties with necessary precaution within accepted safety practices.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 100 lbs as needed
  • Prior maintenance experience in large facility or apartment complex
  • 6 months prior experience repairing and maintaining the roof, ceilings, and walls of a facility
