Job Overview:

The Community Life Manager is directly responsible for supervision of individuals’ supports, maintenance of assigned programs and implementation of Individual Service Plans through programming and enrichment areas. Supports and assists people in attaining their needs, desires and dreams in community based settings. 

What you'll be doing:

Trains the assigned staff utilizing the BLC training materials and maintaining training records.
Develops and maintains positive relationships with funding sources, outside agencies, families/guardians, and community resources. 
Develops and coordinates schedules to ensure effective and efficient staff to meet the needs of the people supported in the community.
Coordinates the use of tools, such as Positive Personal Profiles, to determine programming and schedules of individuals supported in the community setting
Works in collaboration with other agencies and residential staff to develop ISPs to include community based goals. 
Monitors record keeping and report processes both within Bethesda Lutheran Communities and with outside agencies such as residential placements and LTC.
Under the direction of the CL Director, develops opportunities for expansion of options for programming in the community settings.
Works with CL Director to manage and implement program budgets, provides input on budget development; ensures financial records are complete and within allocated budget.


What we want to see from you:

Bachelor’s degree in related field and two years of comparable work experience.
Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record in last 3 years
Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug test as defined by regulations and policies
Must have First Aid and CPR certifications
Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, bend and lift objects and/or persons daily.
Must be able to stand for 8 hours at a time.
Must possess good verbal, reading, and written communication in English; basic math skills; and basic computer skills.
Must be willing to drive throughout the assigned geographic area.
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in the absence of an immediate supervisor.
Ability to establish and maintain professional and cooperative relations with local businesses and agencies.
