Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Biologist for employment in the Conshohocken, PA office. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). This program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at AECOM. You will gain experience in your discipline through learning on the job and participate in development opportunities during the program, including access to AECOM's social media resources, group mentoring, and professional networking. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Collect and analyze abiotic and biological data

+ Prepare technical reports

+ Regularly interact with coworkers within and among teams

+ Prepare and perform quality control of documents and other technical reports

+ Prepare and implement Safe Work Plans

+ Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

There will be a six-month probationary period

Minimum Requirements

+ Currently in pursuit of Bachelor's degree Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or a related discipline

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

+ Proficiency with computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets and related applications

+ Self-motivated

+ Available for field work for up to a week at a time

+ Flexible schedule and willingness to occasionally work 10-12 hours per day

+ Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted

+ Ability and willingness to travel and work long hours in the field and conduct field work outdoors in sometimes adverse climate and field conditions

Preferred Qualifications

+ Field sampling experience (e.g., use of Ponars, D-nets, electrofishing equipment)

+ Spreadsheet experience

+ Good writing skills as evidenced by a thesis or similar document

+ GIS experience

+ A university student with no more than one academic year remaining before earning a degree preferred, these students are typically seniors in university. Contingent upon a positive performance review, a successful intern may receive an offer of full-time employment
