Electrical Engineer- Powertrain Core Electronics

The Electrical Engineer- Powertrain Core Electronics will be in a team environment, in conjunction with a supplier team, to design, develop, verify, and release embedded automotive powertrain electronics into FCA vehicles. The Electrical Engineers primary components are Engine (gas) and Transmission Electronic controllers. The Engineer will release component(s) into FCA releasing system and develop module specifications, FMEA's, test specifications and source packages. The candidate will design and/or verify circuit designs and lead; and participate in issue resolution activities during development, vehicle launch, and/or warranty periods. He/she will support effort to incorporate module(s) into FCA vehicle electrical systems and work with supplier on new module package designs to conform to FCA vehicle under hood and interior environments. The Engineer will lead and participate in teams to develop the required vehicle function control requirements that are incorporated into the controllers. He/she will prototype possible cost saving or development issue solutions in hardware and/or software in conjunction with supplier and lead and participate in technical coordination meetings and trips to supplier for component technical reviews. The Engineer will support activities with corporate supplier quality and purchasing areas and support corporate quality in the areas of plant and field issue resolution.
