FCA is seeking a dynamic leader for the role of Manager - Powertrain Controls Strategy. The Manager will gather data on future technology, market needs, customer desires, and competitive landscape to understand how the mega-trends of electrification, connectivity, diverse mobility, and autonomy will drive future propulsion system controls requirements. The selected candidate will be looking 5-10 years into the future, with an emphasis on powertrain controls for global markets. Key responsible areas include architecture, controls, controllers, features, software, connectivity, and calibration methodologies.
The Manager of Strategy will contribute in the following areas:
- Analyze and synthesize data into information to identify trends, product actions, future product technical/technology needs, and threats and opportunities
- Bring a business/entrepreneurial mindset to look for fundamental competitive advantages and reach for market disruptors and discontinuities
- Propose specific product studies, strategies, plans and product actions (projects), including coordinating and shaping studies and projects with global vehicle and PT stakeholders
- Understand and explain our current powertrain controls portfolio and associated risk for future technology development and understand where we need to be in the future and advise management on where to invest to manage growth and risk
- Writing papers and presenting/proposing to upper management for approval
