About this job

The Advanced/Mastering Texture Development Lead will be responsible for all activity associated with advanced texture. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Create/master all textures / patterns / finishes for FCA-US and/or joint-venture programs (interior, exterior, under hood) through PDO Global Mastering Studio
  • Generate texture specifications (TD, MDA, TMR) and identification for CPM-Index
  • Support, provide direction/recommendations, lead/develop textures/surface finishes for PDO Studios during Definition, Target Setting and Technical Design & Development phases
  • Lead/develop/approve/release texture Masters (plaques), "match-to" Masters for PDO Studios, validate textures for Scratch/Mar, create for distribution with Thierry
  • Lead resolution of texture related issues during Tooling, Product Validation, Volume Readiness and Launch Phases
  • Audit Texture supplier sources for capability and performance; maintain SOP and conformance
  • Explore new opportunities to expand Texture Supply base
  • Manage approved Texture sources to FCA SOP, perform audits, and assess process
  • Maintain electronic catalog of Texture patterns for FCA-US with opportunity to include FCA-Italy Texture patterns

Author/maintain/publish CPM-INDEX in BeST:

  • Coordinate rollers and plates for leather and vinyl textures
  • Support/lead Nickel-Shell development for visual Surface Model Reviews with PDO Studio(s) assessment/approval
  • Lead Nickel-Shell development visual Wrapped Model/Epoxy/Mandrel Reviews for PDO Studio(s) assessment/approval
  • Benchmark competitive set textures and patterns
  • Support Roadmap development/recommendation of texture identification process
  • Support Materials Lab Scratch and Mar Feasibility Assessment projects
  • Support Craftsmanship Studio for texture related issues during VP, PS, V1 phases
  • Measure/analyze textures with electronic equipment to create objective footprint to support feasibility assessments, qualitative analysis
  • Develop/train Texture Specialist, as back-up

Responsible for all Appearance Standards/Documentation/Process/Specifications:

  • Review, edit, approve/reject all Corporate Engineering Standards (BeST database) as the FCA Global Corporate Appearance Standards Approver
  • Maintain/author "official" ATAR Document for FCA Group LLC
  • FCA-US lead for Appearance Global Process Convergence activities, including "Harmonization Project" (NAFTA/EMEA/LATAM/APAC teams)
  • Monitor, support Santa Fe, MEX (NAFTA); Shanghai, China (APAC); Pune, India (APAC), Belo Horizonte, Brazil (LATAM) and Torino, Italy (EMEA) and any future Craftsmanship Studios/locations for continuous conformance to appearance process & specification
