Tool and Process Engineering Manager

The Tool and Process Engineering Manager directs all tool and process engineering activities for the Kokomo Casting Plant powertrain operations and leads the Tool & Process Engineering group in the attainment of plant objectives, driving overall operational excellence through World Class Manufacturing with a large focus on kaizen attainment.

The selected candidate will direct all tool and process operations, teach, coach, and lead engineering group leads to create a high functioning, cohesive team environment. Review daily targets and work towards scorecard metric attainment, devise future projects for the facility to improve overall productivity and profitability, support World Class Manufacturing (WCM) through World Class Technology (WCT) route map activities that align to support the plant initiatives. Analyze tool life progress and devise improvement strategies, support, attend and provide engineering leadership to World Class Team Boards, establish and build upon current tool and process standards- Manage and improve annual Die Rebuild project that focuses on improving Key Performance Indicators (KPI) (Cost per unit, die life, tool flexibility, etc.) He/she will perform cost validations, review and approve expenditures to budget as required. Attend and participate in senior leadership meetings, devise strategies for continuous improvement and overall productivity support all program and launch activities pertaining to both process control and tooling.
