Qualifications:
Previous restaurant experience preferred, but not required.
• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Previous restaurant experience preferred, not required.
• Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
• Ability to reach, bend and stoop.
• Ability to work in standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
• Ability to safely lift and easily maneuver plates of food, glass racks and ice buckets.
• Ability to move and process information quickly.


Additional Information
Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
• Execute all directives from management throughout shift.
• Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
• Keep customers as comfortable as possible while waiting by providing beverages and information, when needed.
• When immediate seating is limited, record guest names and number of people in party. Record all other pertinent information as well, including whether or not they would be interested in eating at the bar. .
• Know the names of several upcoming parties and their sizes & seating preferences when tables become available. This will streamline the seating so that no tables are left open a second longer than necessary.
• Provide guests with estimated waiting time in a 10-min block (ex. 20-30 min) give them a pager and record pager number.
• Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible. Notate these requests on table management system for the MOD to see clearly- some requests are requirements such as a guest in a wheelchair.
• Upon seating, offer guests a menu and silverware. Inspect table for proper presentation and completeness. Remove silver that will not be used.
• Relay messages to servers, managers and buspersons as needed.
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
