Powertrain Test Instrumentation Engineer - Full-time / Part-time

The candidate for the Powertrain Test Instrumentation Engineer position will be required to design and specify the necessary electrical connections to make an engine and transmission operational as a subset of a total vehicle setup. The Engineer will interface with a network of product development engineers to provide required module and component specifications from electrical, mechanical and communication data (e.g. CAN and LIN Bus). The Test Engineer will work with technicians and mechanics in a union environment on a daily basis. The candidate will also need to document designs via CAD, be able to respond quickly to issues and be engaged in multiple issues simultaneously with the goal of minimizing facility down time.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Design interfacing of various engine and transmission modules and components to dynamometer control and data acquisition systems
• Managing the build of interface harnesses and sub-harnesses (prototype and multi-builds)
• Coordinating the installation, verifying operation, troubleshooting issues and ensuring corrective actions in a testing environment
