Carillon Assisted Living, a Raleigh-based company in the business of building and operating assisted living facilities for the elderly is seeking to hire a Kitchen Manager for our community in Mint Hill, North Carolina. Carillon has 21 facilities in North Carolina with more in the development pipeline . Our Dining Services Director is responsible for ensuring the nutritional needs of the residents are properly met and is accountable for the consistency and quality of the food service. Prepare food for service according to menu plan and standardized recipes in a safe, efficient and timely manner. Monitors the food budget and provides a safe, clean work environment. Responsible for ware washing; storage of food preparation equipment and dishware; disposal of waste products from meal preparation; storage and "First In--First Out" rotation of perishable and non-perishable products; general cleaning and sanitation of the kitchen and dining room; and delivery and pick-up of trays from the Alzheimer's unit and from residents requesting tray service. Responsible for taking menu orders from residents and guests of the community, serving meals and cleaning tables according to established policy and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS: A Passion for working with seniors Must have a minimum of one year commercial food preparation. This position requires high school education or GED with some specialized training pertaining to food Serv-Safe Certification required. Supervisory experience required.
