SUMMER SCIENCE CAMP-HIRING TEACHERS & ASSISTANTS - Full-time / Part-time

ATTENTION: Teachers, Education Majors, College Students & Slime Makers!

Locations - Palo Alto, Los Altos, San Jose, Santa Clara, Milpitas, Sunnyvale, Los Gatos, Saratoga, San Jose, Fremont, Milpitas, Pleasanton plus San Mateo & SF Counties

Dates: June, July & early August - PT or FT (25-40 hrs/wk)

Ready for a summer of robot action, rocket science, creative games and cutting edge hands on activities?! Destination Science is the fun day camp for curious kids ages 5-11. We are looking for "teachers and enthusiastic site assistants" who can "wow" our campers and who are dedicated to making a connection with each child. Our time with the campers is the most important component to a successful camp experience. 

OVERVIEW OF STAFF HOURS & POSITIONS:

Destination Science has full-time and part-time Teacher positions available: Campers arrive from 9am-3:00pm. We also offer extended care from 8am-9am and 3:00-530pm. Staff will be asked to rotate extended care shifts. Staff will be scheduled at one or more locations for 4 or more weeks this summer depending on your availability and location.

Full Time: 8am-3:30pm (M-F)

AM Part Time: 7:45am-1pm (M-F)

PM Part Time: 12pm- 530pm (M-F)

Substitute/On-Call

Extended Care only 2:30-530pm (M-F)

Destination Science provides the curriculum, all the materials; we train our staff. Our camps follow a traditional camp schedule. There are 2 science stations in the morning and 1 science station in the afternoon. Between building the robots, launching rockets and solving science mysteries, we engage in outside action with games, songs, rallies, and spirit days. 

Site Assistant positions available for college students that enjoy working with kids: 16-32 hours per week based on location (minimum wage) -- assist campers/teachers, conduct games, and assist with extended care kids. 

Teacher Positions available for credentialed teachers and future educators interested in gaining teaching experience: 25-40+ hours per week -Full Day Teachers will teach 3 science stations daily. They will also assist the team in organizing and supervising outdoor games, activities & creative challenges.

Full Time Site Directing Opportunities for those with leadership and education experience!! 

1. Ability to organize, multi-task and work independently and with support.

2. Ability to teach & manage 14 kids in a group setting

3. Ability to be present and find the fun each day and teach with style and enthusiasm

4. Ability to be punctual and prepared.

5. Ability to be part of a team contributing to the success of camp

6. Ability to ask good questions and show patience as children discover and build projects
