Maintenance Technician

Job Description:

Twang Partners is a family owned San Antonio, Texas-based firm specializing in the manufacture of a variety of flavored salts and sugars for the adult beverage industry.  Our products are one-of-a-kind high quality spice blends that enhance the drinking as well as the eating experience.

We are seeking a Full-Time skilled Maintenance Technician responsible for general maintenance and upkeep of the building and all equipment.  The Maintenance Technician helps to develop, build and install machines.  The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots mechanical problems as well as performs preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities:

Install and maintain production machines and all plant facility equipment

Provide emergency repairs of production equipment as necessary and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service

Perform basic machinist duties and responsibilities

Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service

Diagnose equipment problems, repair or replace parts, test and make adjustments as necessary

Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities

Perform plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions when necessary

Detect faulty operations or defective materials and report any unusual situations to the proper supervisor

Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area

Requirements:

  High School or equivalent; some college preferred

2 years minimum of education and training beyond high school level in general

 

maintenance and repair

         

 

Minimum 5 years of experience with electronics and machines, preferably in food/drug

production and packaging equipment

       

 

Must be able to recognize electrical, plumbing and mechanical malfunctions or

 

equipment failures

           

 

Must have solid understanding of electrical systems

TIG welding experience a plus

   

 

Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees and vendors and contractors

Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions

   

 

Basic computer skills necessary

       

 

Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

 

Must be able to work effectively in a loud work environment

   

 

Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time during a regular work day

 

Must be able to lift and carry materials weighing 50+ pounds, climb up and down ladders

and work while stooped, kneeling, crouching or crawling
