Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

 Provides direction and leadership support for site manufacturing activities to attain cost, quality and delivery goals. Manages available resources and leads associates to perform all departmental tasks in the most cost effective manner while ensuring a quality product is processed according to schedule. Ensures proper use of all personnel systems and adherence to all regulatory requirements placed on the plant. Supports company operating plan.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Review open orders and scheduling of department(s) to meet customer requirements.

·       Communicate (lead by example) Company mission and values.

·       Develop associates through effective use of the Employee Management System initiate corrective action as required.

·       Meet plant and value stream objectives.

·       Maintains fair and consistent application of all company policies and procedures.

·       Demonstrate support for company programs through words and actions.

·       Assist plant leadership in driving and accomplishing key performance indicators.

·       Resolve personnel issues or conflicts to extent of authority.

·       Resolve product, process and equipment issues.

·       Train and develop experienced associates.

·       Plan and prioritize daily job assignments along with coordination with off shift supervisor including scheduled overtime requirements.

·       Assist in the hiring process and new associate orientation.

·       Perform job related administrative duties.

·       Maintain time records for area employees.

·       Responsible for employee disciplinary action.

·       Search out, recommend and implement process improvements.

·       Participate in weekly plant management team meetings to include, but not limited too, reporting of scrap, production output, scheduling overtime, plant overtime operation hours, on time delivery of customer product, customer disappointment resolution.

·       Participate in Daily Production/Inside Sales meetings

·       Assists in Housekeeping Audits throughout the facility

·       Collection and distribution of production and inventory reporting

·       Ensure completion of Preventative Maintenance within the department

·       Understanding Purchasing Limits

·       Open/Close building as required for plant production operations.

·       Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education:    

Associate’s Degree or demonstrated equivalent through work experience.

Experience:   

Demonstrated leadership ability, strong technical ability, manufacturing  experience preferred (Welding, Production Equipment, Assembly, Auxiliary and or shipping/receiving operations).

Skills:  

Basic computer software skills (e.g. Microsoft Office). Effective communication, influencing skills, and decision making ability.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Walk up to a ¼ mile at a time.
  • Bend, squat, reaches as needed.
  • Have good vision/corrected to 20-20.
  • Good Hearing and finger dexterity.
  • Must understand and speak English.
  • Sitting, standing, walking, lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Environmental requirements include working indoors in a high noise level and humid environment.
