Grand Junction Brewing Co. in Westfield, IN is currently seeking a qualified candidate for our General Manager position. 

The General Manager at GJBC is responsible for managing the daily operations of the restaurant and tap room at GJBC and all that encompasses. This includes the hiring, development, and performance management of employees. In addition, the GM oversees the inventory and ordering of food and supplies. The GM is also responsible for optimizing profits and ensuring that guests are satisfied with their dining experience. The GM is also responsible for assisting with community outreach and marketing efforts at GJBC. The General Manager reports directly to ownership. 

Essential Daily Functions

Responsibilities include:

General
• Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant and bar side.

Overall Financial Considerations

• Adhere to high level company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize overall costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs.

Food safety and planning

• Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas. Ensure compliance with operational standards, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
• Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service.
• Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, dress, and appearance standards.
• Estimate food and beverage costs. Efficient provisioning and purchasing of supplies. Supervise portion control and quantities of
preparation to minimize waste.
• Estimate food needs, place orders with distributors, and schedule the delivery of fresh food and supplies.
• Uphold all ServSafe guidelines.

Customer Experience

• Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.

Daily Operational responsibilities

• Manage shifts which include: daily decision making, scheduling, planning, while upholding high standards of product quality and cleanliness.
• Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.

Employee Interaction

• Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues.
• Direct involvement in the hiring, supervision, and development of employees. When necessary, the termination of employees.
• Oversee the initial and continual training of new and current employees
• Develop employees by providing ongoing feedback as quickly as possible, establishing performance expectations up-front, and by conducting frequent, private, one on one performance reviews.
• Develop and maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan for staffing needs. Prepare schedules and ensure that the restaurant is staffed for all shifts.

Community Outreach

• Provide a strong presence in the local Westfield community and high level of community involvement by GJBC as a whole.

Accountability

• Keep ownership promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e.
any problems, unusual matters of significance and positive events) and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action.
• Completes job responsibilities and performance objectives in a timely and effective manner.
• Frequently meets with ownership to discuss matters of importance, provides an opinion as it relates to such subject matter, and ultimately facilitates and executes on the collective decisions made from those meetings. 
• Maintains a favorable working relationship with everyone at GJBC, including ownership and company employees, to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the job or requested by ownership.
